Place: Pho Xe Lua, Chinatown
Pho Xe Lua is a small humble restaurant on Race Street in Chinatown. I could give you lots of information in regards to the restaurant but let’s be honest…. I’m only really here to tell you about the Pho!

The broth is delicious. It is fragrant with spices, has a layer of fat on the top, and tastes like it’s been simmered for hours.

The meat quality was alright. The steak was good, the brisket was a little too fatty, the tripe was okay, the meatball was tasty but a lil mushy.

The vegetables were fresh, except the bean sprouts were a little brown as if they were sitting out for a little bit. But the basil, limes, and peppers were vibrant and tasty.

The noodles were not overdone or underdone. They weren’t necessarily perfect but they were good.

The Pho looked very good, the presentation was nice.

It was very affordable the Large was only 6.25 and the XL was 7.50. Great prices for a good bowl of pho!

I would recommend this place only if you’d like to try different places to eat Pho.
It wasn’t the best bowl of Pho that I have had, but there are still 9 more places to try! It was a solid bowl of Pho and if you want to deal with the traffic, and trying to find parking, then sure why not try it.
